Bill Pay Option

Many financial institutions have a bill pay option which allows customers to set up a reoccurring payment to a business in the form of a check. Because Berkeley's quarterly rate is set in January, each quarter's bill for the rest of the year will be that amount. Check with your financial institution to see if you need to enroll in a bill pay program and if there are costs associated with it. Any bill payments set up in the third month of the quarter should go out by the 15th of the month to ensure it arrives on time to our office.

Delinquent Accounts

Delinquent accounts will incur a fifteen ($15.00) late fee. This late fee will commence for all sewer bills delinquent and not paid prior to July 31, 2011. This fee is in addition to any fees for accounts turned over to Adams and Jefferson County Treasurer for collection.

Any customer who has a sewer bill over one year old will be charged a three hundred dollar ($300.00) fee and the account will be sent to either the Adams or Jefferson County Treasurer for collection. In the event your account is turned over to the Adams or Jefferson County Treasurer for collection, payments at that time must be paid directly to the Adams or Jefferson County Treasurer rather than to the Berkeley Water and Sanitation District. The Adams and Jefferson County Treasurer also charges interest and/or fees for accounts turned over to them.
