About the District

Statement of Purpose

In February 1961, the Berkeley Water and Sanitation District (Berkeley) was organized to provide a complete water supply and distribution system for residential, commercial and fire protection uses throughout the district. Berkeley further provides a sanitary sewer system for the gathering and transmittal of sewage and for the treatment and disposal thereof. Berkeley shall engage in such activities as are reasonably necessary to satisfy and meet said purposes.
